Journal Policy
Social Science and Governance Review (SSGR) upholds the following publishing policies to ensure transparency, integrity, and openness in scholarly communication.
1. Open Access Policy
SSGR provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that research should be freely available to the public to support a wider global exchange of knowledge. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) 4.0 license, allowing unrestricted reuse with proper attribution.
2. Copyright Policy
Authors retain copyright of their work. Upon publication, authors grant the journal the right of first publication. Readers and third parties may reuse published material under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, provided the original author(s) and journal are properly credited.
3. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions are screened for plagiarism using similarity-detection tools. Manuscripts with significant textual overlap to previously published work — without proper quotation or citation — may be desk-rejected, returned for revision, or, if discovered post-publication, retracted. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for obtaining permission to reuse any third-party material.
4. Peer Review Policy
SSGR applies a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, and editorial decisions are based on their recommendations and editorial assessment. Detailed procedures are described on the Peer Review Process page.
5. Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are encouraged to deposit the preprint (submitted version) and the accepted author manuscript in institutional or subject repositories, with a link to the published version on the journal website. The published version of record may not be deposited elsewhere until the embargo period (if any) has elapsed.
6. Archiving and Preservation Policy
SSGR preserves published content through long-term digital archiving. The journal participates in the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) Preservation Network and maintains regular backups to ensure the continued availability and integrity of its content.
7. Privacy Statement
The names, affiliations, and email addresses entered in the journal system are used exclusively for editorial and publishing purposes and are not made available to any other party or for any other purpose. Full details are available on the Privacy Statement page.
8. Correction, Retraction, and Expression of Concern
In the event of significant errors, research or publication misconduct, or other concerns that affect the integrity of the published record, the journal will issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines. Such notices are clearly labeled and linked to the original article.
9. Conflict of Interest Policy
All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the publication process. Authors include a conflict-of-interest statement in the manuscript; editors and reviewers recuse themselves when a conflict exists.
10. Publication Frequency
SSGR is published two times per year (semiannual). Each issue contains research articles, conceptual papers, critical reviews, and case studies in social sciences, governance, public policy, and related disciplines.
11. Indexing and Discovery
The journal is working toward registration with major indexing services including DOAJ, Google Scholar, Crossref, and national indexes (SINTA, Garuda). Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for persistent identification and citation.
